Mary Ivison is a visual artist and truth seeker whose work reflects her deep engagement with the natural world and the cycles that shape life on Earth. Her art is a fusion of inquiry and intuition, where the interconnectedness of the everyday and the extraordinary unfolds through a careful exploration of both personal experience and the vast phenomena that surround her. Inspired by nature’s rhythms, Mary’s practice is grounded in her studies of the environment, using her own life experiences as a lens through which to understand the intricate cycles of nature.
Driven by a relentless curiosity, Mary investigates the synchronicities that exist between the micro and the macro, whether they manifest as emotions, patterns, mathematics, or spiritual concepts. She seeks to organize these insights into a visual language that resonates deeply with her own understanding of the world, creating space for introspection and reflection. This language transcends specific mediums, adapting fluidly to the needs of each work in order to communicate her discoveries effectively. The process of creating her art is a dynamic dialogue—a conversation between her thoughts, the known and the unknown, and the chosen medium, all working together to explore the mysteries of existence.
Mary Ivison grew up in Ontario, Canada where she completed her BFA at Brock University. Mary is now living a nomadic lifestyle, travelling the world to expand her artistic research.
